Numerous funding opportunities are available for graduate students in the Department of Plant Biology. Graduate students making good progress towards their degree are provided with a competitive stipend throughout their career at MSU. The Department, the College of Natural Science, and the University offer various fellowships and research and teaching assistantships which include a waiver of tuition and fees for nine credit hours and health insurance. In addition, training grants and travel grants are often available and many faculty provide research assistantships from extramural funding.
